— The Best Gift Ever —

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer’s showroom and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted. As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car.

Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box. Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man’s name embossed in gold. Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said, “With all your money you give me a Bible?” And stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things. When he arrived at his father’s house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart.

He began to search through his father’s important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt 7:11, “And if ye, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly father which is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?” As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer’s name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words… PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God’s blessing because they are not packaged as we expected? I trust you enjoyed this. Pass it on to others. Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for…

PLS. SEND THIS TO AT LEAST FIVE PEOPLE SO AS TO LET THIS GREAT LESSON FLOW AROUND.

Lesson I learned: (Write here what your learned)

Gifts doesn't have to be well wrapped for you to appreciate it. Sometimes, God has reasons for giving you something not its beautiful form but in its simpliest - a test if we could see things as He would. Gifts are blessings and blessings are from God, so no matter how big, small, wrapped or unwrapped it is - be thankful 'coz God have thought of you

All About Perfumes!!!

Fragrance has become very much a part of my beauty regimen everyday. That at midday ... a retouch is a must! So, I keep a mini version of my "scent for the day" in my purse. There are dozens and even hundreds of scents available in the market today. And with so much to choose from, it's really a hard task to try and find just the right scent. I've been asking friends and relatives as to what they do in order for their scent they are using to last longer. Here's some of them ...

1. Use an oil based perfume. Since Eau de Parfum has more oil content this would last longer but are usually scent is heavier or stronger. So this is not recommended for regular daytime wear. Some friends say that when they use these this kind of fragrance they would spray it in the air and they would walk through the perfume mist, so scent would be much lighter than usual.
2. Fill a sink with water, add a few drops of perfume, and hand wash your hose and brassiere. Hmmmm, some women have been doing this pala. I'll try this myself...hehehe. I think this is true enough since bras are so close to our heart which is one part of our body that is warm, scent would stay longer.
3. Layer, layer, layer! Many fragrance lines offer these layering options in just the right scent dosage so that you don’t have to worry if you have gone too far. With fragrance, remember that less is always more.
4. To get the most out of your scent, apply it where your skin is warmest. These areas are often referred to as your pulse points. Your fragrance is most effective behind your ears, along your wrist, below your neck, above your chest, behind your knees and under your feet.
5. Choose the right scent for you! Never ever purchase a scent when you still haven't tried it. Obtain trial samples of a fragrance you are considering and try it out over a period of time. If you can’t obtain trial samples, visit stores that carry the scent(s) you are considering and use a tester instead. Some people say to do this in the middle of the day because fragrance experts claim that is the time of day when the sense of smell is most active. Spray the scent on yourself on the inside of your wrist. That way you can gauge how different it might become as it mixes with your unique body chemistry. Live with the scent for the day to see whether or not it meets the requirements you are looking for.

Well, hope that I was of help all of you out there!

This is all about sharing ideas and info about stuff that we can do with our kids - most especially in times when they don't want to take a nap and bug you. Mommy Anna's experience would really be of great help to us moms who are so lost in the world of mommyhood and earning online at the same time. Izzo's First Day of School

I'm sooo excited to see my eldest kiddo dress-up for his first day in school. Of course, I took a much needed vacation leave from our office to give support to Izzo in his first day of school. The day started when I have to wake him up at 7:15 am for him to eat breakfast, take a bath and then leave by 7:45 since his classes really starts at 8:00 am. I didn't have a hard time waking him up. He jumped out of bed when I told him that it's his first day in school and mommy will be the one to accompany him to school. Then he took his breakfast, then off for a quick bath, dress-up and off we go to Children First Preschool ... Since daddy was not able to take a leave from work, we asked lolo to bring us to school. Hmmm, this went bad ... we took a tricycle to school! Lolo was busy doing some errands for my mom (she was offered to be a canteen concessionaire) ... so how can I argue with lolo (LOL). Anyways, no harm done 'coz we arrived in time. Izzo's classes from Monday till Wednesday is from 8:00-9:30 am only ... for the students to get acquainted their new classmates and familiarize themselves with the surroundings. So, I waited outside together with the other mommies and yayas. Had a short chit-chat with them and this is where I found out some other feedbacks pertaining the school. They told me that their older siblings didn't had a hard time adjusting to the big schools because of the way the students are taught and trained in Children First ... so totoo pala talaga. At least I get to hear feedbacks straight from the horses mouths ... hehehe ... So more kwentos to come ... Pictures to follow ...

Parent's Orientation at Children First Preschool

My eldest son will be going to school already. And I attended the Parent's Orientation today June 14, 4pm together with Ate Amie. My hubby and I chose Children First Preschool for providing his foundation education. We've visited a number of preschools during the last 4 months. And there are a number of good preschools that we saw but are way tooo expensive. But I'd like to try Children First Preschool not just because of their reasonable tuition fee but the way the school administrator's and staff handles the parents inquiries and questions - and they are consistent. I felt at home already and if this is the way I feel ... I guess that would be the same also for my kiddo. I also observed the way the rooms are arranged ... 'coz there was a time that we visited the school and there were still classes ... and what I observed was they really instill discipline to their students. When the teacher says to "pack away" after their playtime, the students are cleaning and packing up the toys they used for playing ... galing! Safety is also my main priority. And how do go about it ... they personally know the fetchers of all their students ... another galing factor! Tomorrow, June 16 is their first day of classes. And since this is a first for my kiddo ... I filed a vacation leave from work and witness this momentous first for him. I bought him a Hotwheels backpack, a new black leather shoes, school shorts and jogging pants for their every Friday P.E. class. Pictures to follow.

Happy Independence Day!

It's our 110th Independence Day!!! Gosh, it's been a little hard these days living in the country that I so love. With gasoline prices going up ... up ... up every week as well as prices of basic commodities ... whew! How can we survive! I'm thinking of those people whose life is much more miserable than mine ... those whom the food on their tables is a result of their hardwork for that same day ... the so called "isang kahig, isang tuka" in the Philippine context. Paano kaya sila? is my question. Haay, let's just pray to our Almighty God, the Creator of All ... that He would give us strength to overcome these trials and a BIG HOPE that behind all these ... there's a rainbow and a bright future ahead of us! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! Mabuhay tayong lahat!

Where's Your Loyalty?

Found a Solution for Oily Skin?

My oily skin made me choose carefully the products I use especially for my face. From facial wash to cleansers, from moisturizers to make-up (foundation, eyeliners, eyeshadow, mascara). Well, I found a product that suits my oily skin ... Celeteque! I so love their water-based moisturizer with the no-greasy feeling after the application and its sooo cool when you apply it to your face. I also looove their Oil Control Toner. I tried this product for just a week, applying it in the morning and in the evening after washing my face, and I've noticed that there has been a significant improvement - less oil production in my face. This is great ... now I found my partner. Thanks Celeteque! This product by the way is from Unilab!

Want to Save More on Fuel?

Here's a tip from a fellow blogger ... I say this is a very important read for all of us ... since fuel prices are every week (as in literally every week) going up by minimum of P0.50 to more than P1.00. Read on ...

ONLY BUY OR FILL UP YOUR CAR OR BIKKIE IN THE EARLY MORNING WHEN THE GROUND TEMPERATURE IS STILL COLD. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground, the denser the fuel, when it gets warmer petrol expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening.... your litre is not exactly a litre.

In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the petrol, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products play an important role. A 1 degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do no t have temperature compensation at the pumps.

WHEN YOU'RE FILLING UP, DO NOT SQUEEZE THE TRIGGER OF THE NOZZLE TO A FAST MODE. If you look, you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode, you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapours that are created, while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT TIP IS TO FILL-UP WHEN YOUR TANK IS HALF FULL. The reason for this, the more fuel you have in your tank, the less air occupying its empty space. Petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation.

Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated, so that every litre is actually the exact amount.

ANOTHER REMINDER, IF THERE IS A FUEL TRUCK PUMPING INTO THE STORAGE TANKS, WHEN YOU STOP TO BUY, DO NOT FILL UP - most likely the petrol/diesel is being stirred up as the fuel is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.

Hope, this will help you get the maximum value for your money.
