A Sad News This Christmas ...

Christmas is just a few days away. You can now feel the cold breeze of December, people buying and shopping for presents, you could see Christmas lights and nice decors all around. What a wonderful sight. But to a close friend of mine, their Christmas would not be as good as they wanted it to be. Here’s his story:

His dad is badly needed to be rehabilitated (again for the nth time) for drug addiction and should be brought to a rehab facility to receive his non-12 step addiction treatment. So they brought him there just early this year and just yesterday they received news that his dad got out of the rehab facility without permission. They haven’t broken the news yet to their mom who is sick and bedridden at the same time. The fact that they still have to pay rehab dues for the recent MRT (moral reconation therapy) that they are doing on their patient, they badly need again enough money to hire someone to look for his dad. My oh my … tsk, tsk, tsk! (I wonder what was done to him during his previous 12-step addiction treatment.

I just pray that they find their dad fast just before Christmas or else his mom would look for their dad since they regularly visit the rehab center twice a month.

Family Portrait ... Done!

Hooray! At long last, our dream of having a formal family portrait has come to reality! Of course, thanks to the ever reliable “crazy online deals” again, I got an unlimited 1 hour portrait session that comes with one 8x10 and two 5 x 7 prints. Too sad because I need to pay for a certain amount for them to give me the softcopy hi-resolution photos of our shoot. Well, I’m not financially prepared for that so we just have to say pass for the moment.

The experience was all worth it! Though it was really very tiring, with the kids running around since there were so many toys all around them. But it was fun indeed! Yey! With photographer Gordon to assist us all throughout the shoot everything went fine. But while waiting for our turn, activities at home for kids and toys were available at the studio lobby, so the kids we’re busy as a bee.

Thanks to the photographer North Shore people. We had a great time and produced great pictures too!

Wanted: Working Mom!!!

This is exam week already before my kids go on a semestral break from October 27 to November 7. One thing I realized is that it’s really very hard to belong to the Working Moms world. Having an eight to five job most of the time eats up so much of my energy. Well, I wish and I could have plenty of time and energy to watch over my kids, do all sorts of things with them, play with them and most especially look after their studies. My patience tends to wither after a long day at work. Seriously, I get mad and frustrated very easily when my kids do not want to study or review for their test or even just do their assignments. So I tend to shout at them and bring out the monster mom in me. I feel sorry for my kids and my heart breaks when I see my children almost teary-eyed after I reprimand them (though they really didn’t do anything bad).

At times, there are instances where I wanted to be just like those Work at home moms. It’s amazing how they do encounter employers or employment opportunities where they can enjoy their homes with their kids and at the same time earn from it. But I believe, you have to have the same patience and you must have a good tick on home management for one to be a successful work at home mom.

So, for now let me just enjoy what God has given me now since everything is still manageable. I just have to learn to manage myself in terms of my actions towards my kids. Of course, I have to be very, very careful with the words and the reactions that they see in me … for I could make an impression that it’s okay to be that way (be hot-headed).

In my two years in the blogging world, I realized that it is a bit hard to increase page rank of my blog. Since I consider myself still a newbie in the blogosphere world, there are a few things that I really have to study on and understand terminologies that are needed to successfully achieve my objective – increase page rank. Here are some useful tips for all of you guys:

Take your bananas apart when you get home from the store. If you leave them connected at the stem, they ripen faster.

Peppers with 3 bumps on the bottom are sweeter and better for eating. Peppers with 4 bumps on the bottom are firmer and better for cooking.

To really make scrambled eggs or omelets rich add a couple of spoonfuls of sour cream, cream cheese, or heavy cream in and then beat them up.

Hospitalization No. 2

Oh my, oh my! Here we go again ... Round #2.

We were hospitalized again for the second time ... pneumonia. His previous confinement was March of this year and after six months another episode. First I blame it to our very poor weather. Kids and even adults as well suffer from the same dilemma of having to go through the "sudden change of weather" condition. It's like - morning sunshine, then severe heat by 10am till 3pm, then it will rain by 4pm to stop after thirty minutes or so ... what a weather we have now.

But, sometimes I feel that I haven't given him enough colostrum when he was still a baby, I only relied mostly on infant formula. Not exactly that I wanted it like this but I just had postpartum depression so I really had a hard time coping up with breastfeeding. Breastfeeding was really part of my plan ... I did impose on a no formula policy, but after a week, he had high fever and was not urinating. Pedia said that it means baby is not taking in fluids/milk that well. Some of my friends recommendations to let my baby take organic infant formula for they say that non-organic baby food has artificial coloring and preservatives that is said to have a non-healthy effect on babies' health which includes asthma (which he has now ... oh my), allergic reactions, and a lot more. Hmmm, do you think I could still give him organic formula now to boost him immune system. But the questions is ... are these organic formulas has good taste ... that's for me to find out. But of course, for now I do rely on loading them with vitamins - specially Vitamin C and Zinc to boost their immune system. I am praying also that they eat more vegetables since this is the best and the cheapest immune system builder of all.

I've always had oily skin ever since. There would be products, especially makeups that I'd buy and would just be put to waste because it aggravates the sebum on my skin more. A Vacation @ Port Saint Lucie Real Estate in Florida

It’s not so long anymore before I turn the big 4-0! Ahuh, and I’ve been starting to think about my future (me and hubby), my kids future (their education, etc.)…so in short, financial stability would be one major concern I have to face. And with this I was asking myself for how long will I be able to be at my strongest and healthiest where I can still work and earn money for us to achieve the stability to live a normal life.

So I observed some of the friends’ parents, relatives and even my own parents as well, to check their concerns during this stage of their lives. My realization is that different people … different approaches on planning for their retirement. (Yup, you read it right. Retirement - that’s what they call it.) Hmmm, I never thought that I’m already thinking about my retirement … (hahaha … am I really getting old?).

In the Philippines, the normal retirement age is at 60. But to the Americans, it is between the ages of 55 to 70. I believe that even beyond your 60th year, you can still work and be productive. So why, put a mark or dictate as to when you have to stop working. Anyways, the law is still a law. But what I really want to do before I even reach my “retirement age” I want to visit the United States of America. Yup, you heard it right … that’s one of my biggest dreams. Not to work there, but for a grand vacation. I want to go to Disneyland and visit Mickey Mouse(which by the way near Port Saint Lucie real estate) ... so am thinking of visiting Port Saint Lucie, go to Hollywood, visit the Big Apple - New York it is and a lot more nice places to see there.

So maybe I have to start saving for this vacation, eh?

Poor Weather = Sickness!

I hate it when my boys get sick. Darn this poor weather that we have now … it’s like the sun rises so fine in the morning and then will turn so hot by 9am till around 5pm … then come the rain!!!! Grrrr!!! It’s a good thing that we have a medical insurance where I can turn to. Thank you Health First! Thank you UNAHCO! You see, I only pay very, very little for the doctor’s fee. I get free medicines too. So, what can you ask for? Well, there are cases where I still have to shell out some cash for the uncovered procedures but hey, I still get more freebies than payables. And since my parents need more and more of check-ups because of their age, I’m thinking of getting Medicare supplements for them so they can also enjoy unlimited check-ups and discounted diagnostic procedures. Wanted: Real Boat Ladders in Boracay

So, God gave us an uber beautiful weather during our MidYear Conference in Boracay. The whole duration of our conference (July 12-14) was really sunny and we all had fun in the sun! Though it rained really hard last July 11 (was part of the advanced party – organizing committee) and some of the streets in Bora was flooded with waters … the best weather came in on the morning of July 12. Thank you Lord for the great weather! You are really an Awesome God!

Participants arrived July 12 as early as 7am and I was already assisting the front office team for the room reservations. We welcomed them with drum beaters as soon as they arrive the hotel … and mind you the hotel guests there also enjoyed the fun. They had their pictures taken with the drum beaters (so the drumbeaters felt like celebrities)!

So, conference proper on the July 13, then teambuilding session for the whole team on July 14 (half-day), then island hopping on the afternoon, yippee! But mind you they needed a good boat ladder huh! The boat was big enough to carry as many as 25 persons, but wow you should’ve seen the ladder they made for passengers to step on … but nevertheless we still enjoyed the tour. But before we left the boat, I told the “bankeros” that boarding ladders are important for the passengers for them to be able to get on and off the boat safely. They could use various materials like stainless steel, aluminum or carbon fiber if they have the budget. Pets shouldn't be left behind, they need dog boat ramps too! Anyways, they surely acknowledged my suggestion.

Though did not join them in their snorkeling galore, but I joined them and entered the Cave Island. There were two caves, the one was u just have to go down the stairs and see the view. The other cave was you go down the stairs and then you have to go inside an opening to go to the other side of the cave. Hmmm, challenging but exciting and fun!

Have you ever been to an optical shop were you thought you got the best deal for a pair of sunglasses or even prescription glasses?

I had this experience where an optometrist from a local optical shop visits our office once a week and offers a very good deal of eye protections - sunglasses, reading glasses or prescription glasses. Name it she has it. Since our company has approved of our "Optical Benefit", where employees are given a subsidy where we can purchase glasses (yey, at least the company knows that we are glaring at our computers for 8 to 10 hours while working ... so this benefit!). So in short I got one from her and I wasn't satisfied with it. The glasses doesn't fit me ... I don't mean the frame but the lenses.

I had an open cholesystectomy operation last September 2010 a few days after my youngest son celebrated his birthday. Well am back ... updates, updates, updates!

Coffee Fatigue?!@#$%

Is there such a thing as 'coffee fatigue' .... hmmm. After I gave birth and when I got back in the office, the thing which excited me most is drinking a cup of coffee during breaks or when I feel sleepy. I limit my coffee intake to two cups at most per day, sometimes none at all.

But suddenly, I just felt that I don't want to drink coffee ... I don't know why. Is it maybe because of the coffee brand that we use in the office? Well, we will see ... ceasefire with coffee for the meantime.

Autism or Not?

I'm a little worried over my second son who's two years and 3 months old already. He has a limited vocabulary I may say. He only can say these few words (but seldomly repeats it) mama, dada, tata and car to name a few. But he can already say 'hi' and 'bye'. He can recognize and identify things when you ask him to identify them in his picture books. He knows and can identify already the following: car, sun, bird, owl, elephant, and even disney characters like mickey mouse, jojo circus, winnie the pooh, darby, handy manny, little einstein, higglytownheroes.

I have brought this out with their pediatrician and was told that I shouldn't worry too much since he just turned two. But pedia said that for my peace of mind I can let him see a developmental pedia to be assessed. Well, this made me worry more ... what if he has autism? But pedia said that this may not be be autism but only speech delay since my son has eye contact and stops whenever he needs to. He's active but not too hyperactive.

So I surfed the internet and looked into the available developmental pedias in Metro Manila. Got hold of a few in Medical City, since this hospital is more accessible to us. Guess what? The latest schedule that they can give me is June 3 ... what?@!$@# and take note that the doctor's professional fee is 3 times the general pediatrician ... whew!!! We'll see, I might take him to an assessment center first (fees are more affordable) and see if he really needs to see a developmental pedia. But for sure, he needs to be seen by an expert. I don't want him to lose confidence if I take this at a later time. It's better early than late!!!

My 2010 Goal: Lose Weight!!!

7 years married, 3 kids and a body that needs to be trimmed. I was not able to lose my post pregnancy weight. After I gave birth to my eldest, I'll just lose about 20 pounds and retain the remaining 10 pounds - so, 3 kids is 30 pounds. Now my new year's resolution for 2010 is for me to lose weight for a few reasons.

First, for health reasons. I found out late last year that I have gallstones, "wonderful and beautiful stones" according to the doctor who did my abdominal ultrasound. I'm afraid that my body cannot anymore function properly if I still maintain this weight that I have right now. Second, I don't feel and look good anymore. How can I have self confidence if this is what I'm feeling now. And in turn this can take effect in my work. People tend to look at you with respect if you have confidence in yourself - you project that you have a strong personality and they will not look down on you, stuffs like that. So, trim down girl and gain your confidence! Third, for marital reasons. Of course, I have to look good for my hubby. I don't want to give him any chance of finding someone sexier than me.

Christmas was good for us this year inspite of what has Typhoon Ondoy brought our family. One of the things that has been discussed to me during my first two weeks of work after a 78-day maternity leave is that i'll be given fieldwork to be provided with transpo (I don't know if this is just an allowance or a company-issued car ... I wish and pray!). Anyways, the fact that the management of our company aims to provide excellent service to our customers, providing trainings is one of them. Maybe the management has received a lot of good comments on the team building programs I personally handled with our customers and business partner. I have even conducted customer service trainings to our customer's salesclerks.

I am so amazed by talented people. Like when we supply foodcarts to a birthday party and there's an invited host to do some magic and ventriloquism, I always see to it that I watch them and amaze myself with it. Galing as in super galing! (They're good!) Even with some video trailers and/or tv commercials that has an underlying meaning. It makes me think that God is really a balanced God. He placed different talents to different people so that we will have an appreciation of each other's given talent.

Like this video that I watched, you will really have a different or other interpretation of it. And upon knowing the advertiser behind it ... My Wishlist ... An LCD TV!

My hubby and I have been wanting to purchase a new TV. We've been eyeing an LCD TV but budget doesn't allow us to purchase one yet. Well, by God's grace we will be able to purchase one and we'll be getting not lower than a 32" LCD TV and HD ready too. We have a Nintendo Wii and we cannot maximize its use 'coz our 21" flatscreen tv is not enough to enjoy the games.

Another reason why we would like to buy a new tv is that we cannot watch our favorite programs (especially hubby - the sports channel)!!! I have been a member of facebook for about two going to three weeks now. And my, I got a lot of invites already coming from my high school batchmates already. And we've been keeping in touch since then. This has been a great help especially with our upcoming 20th year grand reunion ... which of course I would not miss. There are invites coming in everytime I log in to my FB account ... name it Farmville, Yoville, CafeWorld, Restaurant City ... and a whole lot more. I was just accepting these invites and friends are always reminding me to create my Farmville account already ... I don't want to get too addicted to this FB game. It's like a Real Property Management game where you get to harvest your own crops, grow your own livestock, etc. But of course, talk about addiction ... I think I'm getting addicted to Cafe World. My Milking Experience

During the time that I was preggy with Adriel, I was really conditioning myself to breastfeed him. I wasn't successful with breastfeeding with my 1st and 2nd sons so I was into breastfeeding Adriel this time. Part of the preparation is not planning to buy any new baby bottles for him - as in I didn't buy even a single bottle. I only brought with me my almost new electric pump (since I wasn't able to breastfeed my 2nd too) to the hospital, no formulas too. So, the big day came for my CS operation and that was September 4. I tried to breastfeed Adriel the day after my operation so that he can get the colostrum. I don't know if he got some but two days after that's when I noticed that a yellowish substance coming out of my boobies so I guess that's the colostrum - so I immediately went back to the nursery to nurse him and give him the most important anti-bodies.

At home, I was nursing him 24/7 - 2 days has passed until after a week, Adie was really crying. He's not getting enough milk from me. I got worried 'coz I might get in the same situation with my 2nd. I was nursing him 24/7 for a week already and he wasn't getting enough milk from me so he had fever and was advised to give him infant formula as supplement. So, I mixed feed at once.

Anyways, with over a dozen of infant formulas in the market today it's really hard for moms like me who has limited budget to choose which formula is best for my baby. Actually, all infant formulas are all the same some are really expensive 'coz they pay for the tv and print advertisements. So it's better to read on the label before buying any brand of infant formula 'coz there are brands that are called store brand formula not so much advertised but are as good as those that are advertised.

Welcome to the world - Luis Adriel Victorino-Ramos. Born September 4, 2009 via CS @ The Medical City. He weighs 8 lbs & 9 oz. and is 55 cm long (the longest so far when he was in TMC). We will call him Adie or Adriel. Had his first well-baby check-up yesterday, September 19 and he now weighs 4.4 kgs or 9.7 lbs and increased his height by 2.5 cms. making him 57.5 cm already.

Ranch Rush ... Finally Finished!

I've been addicted to this game ... Ranch Rush! This is where you are asked to supply various items for people like jams, milk, bread, honey, eggs and lots of basic stuff. You have to plant and harvest and invest on machines so that you can make the bread, jams and cheese.

I really enjoyed playing this game (as well as my eldest son too). Well, during the game if you do have to dispose of something you have to click the item off on the barn too where you store your goods. This served as the game's Waste Industry Management Software so that it's easier to dispose off what you don't need.

What's next ... well we will see!

I really need help guys! I'm due to give birth already on Friday, September 4, and we don't have a name yet for our baby boy! Both my eldest and second son's names are Spanish in origin but we seem to run out of good spanish names that starts with L and A. I was suggesting Leon to my hubby but he doesn't approve of it 'coz it's a bit strong daw. Some of the names I thought of are the following:

1. Luiz Adriel (Luiz came from my eldest name Luis Alfonso)

It's a three-storey building, around 700+ sqm. and they are selling it at Php25M (negotiable). I haven't seen the property yet but I guess it's in a good location since it's very near and just across Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall.

5 more days to go before 'd "Big Day".

Went to Medical City last Saturday, as per advise of my OB to undergo a NST (non-stress test). Well, the baby's fine, he's just so malikot inside my tummy, but they just recorded one (1) minor contractions while I'm strapped so that's good news. The OB residents called my doctor and reported everything written on the NST.

Arrived home around 8:45pm already and it was raining real hard! We just bought fried rice and pansit on our way home. Wow sarap kumain!!!

9 days more to go before my schedules Ceasarian Section (CS). I've started my maternity leave last August 26 (as per advise na rin of my OB, 'coz she's really worried that I might labor pa and have an emergency CS instead). Hehehe ... hard-headed talaga! Anyways, I've been very particular now with that ... having labor contractions. So, I was advised by OB to go to the hospital and have an NST (non-stress test) done to check my contractions ... if its a real labor contractions or just Braxton Hicks. So, what am I feeling now:

1. Super stretched tummy pa rin!
2. Always thirsty ... I don't know why ... but maybe it's b'coz of the hot weather we have now.
3. I feel bored ... kaya I'm always online to kill off the time.
4. Happy din at the same time kasi I get to prepare my eldest to school ... everyday! Super happy din cya kasi hinahatid at sinusundo ko rin cya sa school together with his brother.

15 days more to go before the Big Day!

I'm on my 36th-37th week of pregnancy and the countdown begins. I was advised by my OB that she can schedule me for CS this August 28 or 29 already ... but I insisted that i wanted to give birth on September instead of August. hehehe ... tigas ulo ko e! (I'm hard headed). She agreed but warned me of having a stat or emergency CS. So I made a compromise that I'll be taking my leave already by August 26. Yipee! So at least I still have 10 days before "The Day".

I'm scheduled for CS on September 4 at the The Medical City in Pasig. OB scheduled me at 6:30am ... why so early? Well, OB scheduled another mom to give birth also at the same hospital at 8:00am which was supposedly my original schedule, but since I was her priority (naks!), she scheduled me ahead of this mommy, so I will be the first one to be operated.

What am I feeling now?

1. Super stretched tummy ... yup I can feel the stretch of my skin ... stretch marks here I come!
2. More strong contractions which i have to time since I can't afford to have an emergency CS!!!

My Yaya Dilemma is Over!!!!

Yup, after more than a week of having no yaya (I should've blogged about it ... but never had the chance to do it because I don't have the time), it's now over. My new yaya just arrived last July 25. She's from Iloilo and hopefully by God's grace the yaya we got will be a blessing to us! so far for the one week that she's with us ... she's been good to my kids and even helps out with my eldest son's assignments. Upon arrival from school she takes a look at his assignment notebook and reviews him after he takes his afternoon nap. This is also the week that both my boys got sick with colds and cough (blame the weather for this!) and she was so galing pagbilinan especially with the meds. I only gave a list to her, explained it to her one time and she got it all. Sana nga magtagal na cya sa amin. Oh, btw, my former yaya ... she's asking if she can go back daw to us. Sorry na lang cya, but I can't na. After what she did to me and my family ... no way jose!

Biz Update!

Hubby and I are thinking of getting a second hand pick-up for our new Foodcart biz. We've just been borrowing our Uncle's pick-up every time we have an event. Well, we're thankful for him 'coz he's so very kind in lending his pick-up to us for the two events we had.

One of my officemate is selling his 1996 Mitsubishi pick-up. We'd like to grab this opportunity since we know the vehicle is in good running condition and well maintained. Since we don't have that much resources, I called up my friend who's working in a bank and asked if we can loan a certain amount from their bank for a second hand vehicle. So, she inquired and gave us feedback that they only process loans for 2nd vehicles not more than 5 years. Owwww, maybe this is not yet the perfect time to buy one.

Well, we just hope that people would start to give us opportunities for our foodcart biz and who know we might end up getting a brand new vehicle instead of a second hand one.

1. D & G Light Blue Perfume - I love this perfume 'coz it has a very fresh scent (citrus like), I dont' like the flowery scents kasi e. Makes me think to make a new perfume blog for all my favorite scents! Hmmm ....
2. Shoes Galore - lots! for office and for casual wear ... of course I have to buy it in different colors to match my every wardrobe!
3. Bags - of course to match the shoes I bought
4. Clothes, clothes and lots of them! - from office attires to casual ones.
5. A Spa Treat for me and hubby! - We need this badly to release us from the stress around us (most especially office stress ... ssshhhh quiet lang ha!)

Dreaming is free so I got all these for nothing ... hehehe!

Though I'm going 29 weeks now ... I asked permission from my OB-Gyne if I can join our company's MidYear Business Conference in Baguio. The venue? ... It's going to be at The Manor at Camp John Hay! They told me that it's really nice there ... so I really have to see the place or else I might not be able to in the near future (or even far ... hehehe!). My cousin used to work there as a chef and she told me that they serve good food there. Hmmm, I really shouldn't miss this.

And at the same time I can't miss the company's Employee Recognition Awards ... the 1st GEM Award (or the Go the Extra Mile Award). I am the head project coordinator so I shouldn't miss this first! We're going up on July 9 (via a hired van) and to come down on July 11.

My Very First Event!

Window Shopping

I've been window shopping for the past 2 days ... June 12 ( a Philippine holiday) and June 13 (a non-working saturday for me). Of course I bought a few things for my son ... new set of sandals for my Renzo (which I got for a whopping 60% off @ P340), new set of school clothes (sandos, socks and briefs). But one thing that struck me every time I go shopping are bathroom VANITIES. I've been wanting to have our own bathroom. Since we live in an old house, we only have two bathroom (one downstairs and another common one upstairs). I wanted to buy a bathroom closet to keep our towels and toiletries and at the same time having bath accessories that complements each other. Hmmm, it’s a dream today but will definitely work on it sometime in the future.

We got a Wii as a Gift!

Yes, yes, yes! Our Uncle Oca gave us a Nintendo Wii as a gift. My Izzo loves to play with it, of course the dad as well. I tried playing with it, but I can't give my best shot 'coz I'm worried with putting so much stress on my little one inside me. So i'll try to postpone it until I can use this Wii for me to get back into shape ('coz I've been hearing good stories about the Wii helping people lose weight). We have Wii Play, Wii Sports, Wii Game Party 2 and another adventure game I forgot.

Izzo is requesting us to get him a Mario Cart game ... hmmm, I wanted to but budget doesn't permit it yet. I have to buy the original game and of course a steering wheel that would complete the set. I hope to get more booking in my new food cart biz so that I can give it to my son as a gift.

Yes, it was Renzo's first out-of-town trip ... Tagaytay City! We we're invited by my sister-in-law to spend the day with them. They were supposed to check-in at a hotel but because it's holy week and everybody is in the mood to take out-of-town trips ... all the good hotels there are fully-booked! So, they ended up in the house of her uncle in Talisay, Batangas which was just 10 mins away from Tagaytay City. All I can say about the house ... WOW! The house is not too big nor too small, it's like a country house but better with all the modern furnitures around. They did also have a nipa hut (a small house made of wood) just across. And I remember the western furniture I saw in this website which is perfect for the house. I saw this easter red cedar classic bar which is so fits the house. Since the house caretaker said that visitors often stays at the nipa hut to eat, relax and enjoy the cool breeze it's best that get one of these furnitures along with the bar stools too which could complement more the country ambiance of the house.

I hope that we could go back there again ... in the near future!

The End of My Week Long Vacation

After a week-long vacation ... it has finally come to an end. Back to reality tomorrow!!! Back to work, the pressure and the traffic!!! But I did had an enjoyable week with my kiddos. It was okay for me to spend it with them at home. We just take short trips to the grocery or the mall to just buy something ... and that's it!

Oh, by the way, we took a day trip to Tagaytay nga pala last Thursday. We were invited by my sister-in-law to join them, and she even thought that we'd spend the night there (which we wished we had) but my mom was the one who was left in the house so nakakaawa naman at mag-isa (it's sad that she's left all alone in the house), so we went home instead.

So ... I'm staring to psyched myself that ... "I'm excited to go to work!!!" Hehehe ... I hope this works! HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!!

Fast and Furious 4

Since my eldest Izzo is so fond of cars (take note that these are not the ordinary cars ... but cars with racing set-ups) ... we planned to take him to the moviehouse and watch Fast and the Furious 4. So we planned to watch it today, April 6. He got excited and was not able to sleep in the afternoon because he was really waiting for his dad to arrive from playing airsoft. His lolo was also excited (my dad is really fond of watching movies - even watching alone!). So off we go to Blue Wave Marquinton ... dyaran!!!! Fast and the Furious 4 is rated R-13 ... waaaaah ... OMG!!! Because of our excitement we weren't able to take note of the ratings ... tsk, tsk, tsk! Anways, we ended up (Izzo, hubby and me) played for almost 2 hours at TimeZone. But we told Izzo that we're going to rent or buy the movie so that we could watch it all together at home.

If you could only see the look in his eyes when we told him that he's not allowed to watch the movie. Haaaay .... But he did enjoyed his 2-hour play anyway.

I Think I Need a Pay Day Loan?

Just this Friday, i had an inquiry regarding my foodcart biz. Asking about prices and carts offered. Promised to email pricelist and up until today I still haven't sent my pricelist yet (bad, bad me). I guess I have to purchase more carts so that I could at least book more to double up our family income. I think i need to get a Pay Day Loan for additional capital and get on with our mini-business expansion. Then when I have earned enough money from the biz I could easily payout my outstanding balance so that it will not incur more interest.

Yaya Problems!

We have had several yayas (nanny) already. With my eldest son, I guess we had at least 5 (or more I guess) yayas to take care of him. They come and go. Some went home for family reasons, others just found a better pay, others di lang feel. But we have a yaya now that took care of my eldest, my second and hopefully my third child. But I don't know for what reason (is it her pay?) since last week she has been way toooooo pasaway. She has been staying in their room and just waiting for me to call her before she do her job. When I asked my mom's househelp what my yaya is doing in their room (we're staying at my parent's house btw) and told me that she's sleeping. Sleeping?!@*? At 9am in the morning? It has been that way for a couple of days already. And just this morning I got a bit angry and asked her to sit down and started to ask questions like: Is she feeling sick? Does she still want to take care of my kids? etc. etc. And all I get is a "Hindi, Ate ... Walang Problema, Ate." OMG, I don't know what's in her mind right now. She says that she's okay ... but she's not!!! But what I left her this morning are words of reminder: That her Ate is a very patient person, BUT she should not wait for me to get really pissed.

Patience, patience, patience!!!

Another Card For Me!!!

No, it's not my birthday nor there are any special occasion in our family for me to receive a card. What I'm talking about is not a greeting card, but a new credit card! I've been receiving so many of them without me applying for one. These credit card companies issues automatically cards to good payers or those with good credit standing. So that's the good part for me. But I really limit use of my credit card for emergency purposes only. I don't want to be a great spender just for nothing 'coz I don't want credits to pile up. Else, I'll be in the losing end too.

I've had my first credit card way back when I was in college. This is where Bancard issued student credit cards to college students (I just don't know if they still do this today). Anyways, this has practiced my wise spending. When I had my credit card on hand, i was splurging here and there. I bought so many things ... buying here and there ... But when my statement of account came, that was the time that I really had to save a bigger portion of my allowance just to pay off my debts. Poor me ... but I learned my lesson. I said to myself that I'm still not a wise spender at that time - still weak in resisting shopping temptations, so I decided to stop using my credit card for a while.

But the I came across a site where they offer student credit cards. What's good about this site is that they were honest enough to tell some tips on what to look for and what to watch out for in credit cards. The're right! Some credit card companies issues cards to people just for the sake of meeting their sales quotas. They are not taking into consideration that different people have different needs in terms of credit cards. Off To The Mall

It's Izzo's Moving Up Ceremony this coming March 27. Yes he's moving up from Kindergarten to Prep School. He has improved a lot ... Math (he knows to add and subtract already), Reading skills a-ok! Actually his teacher told me that he will be awarded with a "Best in Reading" in their moving up ceremony.

For the full one year of school, we never ever had a hard time wakinbg him up to go to school. No fusses, crying or whatever. He likes to go to school really ... and that's a good thing for me. He'll be a good model to his siblings. Siyempre, kung anu makita kay Kuya ... gagayahin! Yipee!!!

So we're off to the mall to buy new shoes and new polo ... yehey!!!

It's Time for an Upgrade!!!

Yes, yes, yes! I know that it's time for a computer upgrade ... now! My PC has been experiencing slowness... hehehe ... what a term. I seem not to optimize it's use for my entertainment and sideline works. It's too slow, takes about 3-5 minutes to boot ... grrrr! I can't max out my internet surfing works. Gosh!!! But hubby promised to reformat first our PC before we go to the computer shop for an upgrade (which I guess will cost me about 5 to 7 thousand pesos ... I hope it doesn't go over that). Well, let's see if it works ... but if doesn't ... off to the computer store ....

A Wedding in March

Yup, I was involved with my cousin's civil wedding rites preparation. The rites and the reception was held at Gabrielle's Place in Bayanbayanan Ave. in Marikina. Simple but elegant enough to say that it's no simple wedding. But did you know that the wedding preps was only done all in one month. Yes ... all in 30 days. I did the hosting, the luminaries, got the photographer, made a checklist for the bride ... haaay parang ang sarap ikasal ulit.

Do you feel the summer heat already? I surely can now! Even in the our airconditioned office it seems that the heat can still penetrate inside that I need to use an electric fan in my cubicle just to feel better and not to perspire.

My cousins are scheduling a trip to the beach one of these days to beat the summer heat. Subic or Batangas can be considered ... I wonder when will this happen. Oh well, I'm just praying that my OB-Gyne will clear me to travel this long so that my kids can enjoy the summer heat like that of Arizona in the US where the weather is like around 26 degrees centigrade or 80 degrees farenheit. Speaking of Arizona, I came across a site Scottsdale Fine Properties where they have super dooper nice properties. Might as well check their site out and enjoy their many uber nice properties they have.

Yes, it's official! I'm really pregnant ... 7 weeks to be exact. So, according to my OB-Gyne i'm due to give birth on 1st week of September. This is really an unplanned pregnancy since I just gave birth via Ceasarian Section (CS) last December 14, 2007. But I still thank the Lord for another blessing. So, I have to be careful again with what I eat ... no more sodas, coffee, even iced teas (waaah....maybe occasional sips can be tolerated...hehehe...). My two boys doesn't know yet.

And I hope that this is a BABY GIRL already!

A Laid Back Weekend!

O well, we had a great break from the mall after a follow-up check up last Friday for my two kiddos who had another bad mild pneumonia attack (I blame it on the weather!). But I thank God for they were not confined in the hospital. We've changed pedia for the meantime (or maybe permanently?). We went to a pedia-pulmo instead since my kiddos are inclined to having asthma. So before it gets worse, I'd better do something about it.

Anyways, Saturday came ... we just stayed at home, slept, ate, had fun with the kids, and we just had a quick trip to the grocery for important things that we need at home. Then Sunday ... same thing - slept, ate, played with the kids ... what a nice and thrifty way of spending the weekend (hehehe ...)

But tomorrow is Monday again ... back to reality again!!!

Times are hard nowadays. Though we've been so thankful that the gasoline price has gone down to P31.50 (unleaded) other commodities I doubt if we're gonna experience price rollbacks for these. I've been thinking of earning extra, I've been trying to make money online, been getting opportunities every now and then but still its not enough. I'm have a full time day job and a night job too (that is taking care of my two kids ... hehehe ...) so i'm really a 24/7 mom.

I've been searching the net every now and then for other opportunities in earning online. I've been trying to earn from ptc's, joining conversations but earning from it is a bit slow. Some even offers to let me try online casino games .... uhhh, maybe ... but not now. I can try online data entry jobs but I'm at a loss for trusted sites.

Remember Hyatt Terraces in Baguio?

Do you remember Hyatt Terraces in Baguio? Yes, the one that crashed during the July 16, 1990 earthquake with a 7.7 magnitude that killed almost a hundred people. Yes it was 17 years ago.

But did you know that I was there too at Hyatt from July 12-14, 1990 for our grand Victorino Family Reunion? All 8 families were there together with all the kids and of course our grandparents. That wasn't really our time yet, so the Lord had us come home two days before this giant earthquake. And I thank God even up to know for this.

I had a lot of good memories in this hotel - a lot of firsts to be exact. That was my first out of town trip with the whole clan and we had fun - REAL FUN!!! It was also my first time to stay in a first class hotel and this is where I had a chance to enter a casino and even got a chance to play the slot machine. But everything is different now, before you only get to play casino games but you have to enter a real casino but now there is an online casinos already where you can play casino online games. Oh well, times are really changing, everything now can be done using the net.

Yes, it's our 6th Anniversary today. Hubby and I treated ourselves to an afternoon of pampering and relaxation. We had a 1-hour whole body massage and a facial treatment. Ang sarap ng feeling! My mom is in Cebu and my Dad was in Infanta, Quezon so we asked my mother-in-law to look after the kids first while we celebrate our anniversary.

6 Years ... 2 kids ... and a whole lot more of stories to tell our kids as we journey thru years of being together. I love you Daddy!!!

Birthday Countdown - 3 days to go!

Well ... well ... well ... the days nowadays are as fast as the speed of light. Only 3 more days before Renzo's first birthday. I haven't completed yet shopping for prizes for the games and loot bag items. The birthday cake was just ordered this evening and thank God 'coz special cakes at Goldilocks should now be ordered 2-3 days in advance ... yipee! Hopefully, balloons (take note: balloon art) will be given by his ninang jacque and ninong simon - and I do hope that they can drop by too with simone for the party.

Hopefully, hubby and I will be able to finish all the birthday preps tomorrow or up until friday. Of course, party food will be handled by my very own mom!!! Will just get help from our relatives to help in the kitchen.

Way to Go Camp Rock!!!

High School Musical … Jonas Brothers … Camp Rock ... I see them everywhere. My nephews and nieces are so crazy about these guys. They wanted to own everything that is affiliated with it. Name it bags, pencils, notebooks, t-shirts and even their own collection copy of the CD. One time after having dinner at their house they showed me their large selection of Jonas Brothers Stuff and I was wowed by how many they have … they really have a huge selection. Some were given by their cousins; some were gifts from their aunties and uncles, and some they got from trading from their classmates.I’m still in a lookout of some other stuff they still don’t have in their collection – and this is giving me a very, very hard time. But of course, for my love to these little bunches – no other way but to look and hunt for them. For Camp Rock Fans - Jonas Brothers a sure hit! Every high school and elementary students I talk to, this is one topic that they could go over, and over, and over again. Well at least they go gaga over these things instead of taking drugs … right? So, off to my gift hunting again!!!

I was assigned to head our Christmas Party committee ... (grrr, why now ... I'm still in the midst of Renzo's 1st Birthday preps too!) ... O well, maybe this is just another case of multi-tasking. Anyhow, let me put everything in writing (and blogging). The following has been accomplished already ...

1. Tent Rental
2. Evaporator Cooler Rental
3. Assigned people to take care of the physical arrangements (stage design, backdrop, etc.)
4. Assigned somebody to get a band with lights and sounds as well
5. Printing and distribution of Invitations
Not bad ...

But I still have to finalize the following:

2. Contact Lechon Baka and Lechon Baboy
3. Order drinks
4. Purchase Raffle Items

Airsoft Extreme

Hubby is a huge fan of airsoft. He so much enjoys looking, holding, unassembles and assembles them for x number of times. He has in possession as of this moment ('coz he's into buy and sell also ... he buys 2nd hand, fixes or upgrades them and sells them) are 2 guns. He was able to sell just 2 months ago his M4 and his pistol. Of course, he plans on buying another pistol, but he really has to save up first for that. If women go into bags, clothes, shoe boutiques and spends time just looking, canvassing and sometimes even trying them on to get the feel of it ... airsofters do the same whenever they do go to their airsoft boutiques. They can spend one whole day just looking and appreciating their work of arts. But of course this whole day comes with making chicka (exchange of updates) over other airsofters in the shop.

What's more interesting is that like any other women they also have accessories that go with the guns. From their clothes (army fatigues, vests, shemag – which I hope I spelled right), to their eye and head accessories (googles and helmets), to their shoes (boots) and other accessories like knee pads, elbow pads, hand gloves … this is what they call their full battle gear! I remember one time when we went to a mall, he asked me if we can drop by a shop, so we dropped by and showed me this new brand of pants 511 Pants which he can use not only when he goes to play but even during ordinary days. Hmmm, this gives me an idea … I can give a 511 Pants to him as a Christmas present … nice and affordable. So to those moms out there … these tactical pants can be a unique gift to your hubby too. Advanced Merry Christmas to everybody!!!
